At the British Veterinary Association London Dinner, BVA President Bill Reilly put forward the view of his organisation that breed specific legislation should be ditched. However, Govt Minister Lord Davies of Oldham is not so sure. Speaking about various animal health matters – including his views on dog breeding standards and the need for change following the Bateson Report, he explained that he is ‘always willing to listen’ to those who oppose BSL, but believes the Scottish proposal for a change in the law demonstrates that BSL couldn’t be ‘easily ditched’.
