When our much loved first dog died my wife Christine and I decided that we would wait a few months before getting another. Three weeks later my wife saw an ad in the local paper for a collie described as ‘no good for farm work’. We went to have a look but I knew as soon as she saw the dog, a real little ragamuffin of a collie, that we would have her.
